Goddess Stream ~ An inward gaze
Goddess Stream ~ Collage art
As the Goddess Stream collage has garnered some interest, I thought I would take a deeper dive into the thinking, feeling and doing behind its creation. The collage was birthed over a 6 month period between December 2019 and July 2020, at the beginning of the Covid pandemic.
At the time I was moving through a challenging period of transformation. I had been isolated from friends, family, and in a silent battle with depression. I was trapped in an outward gaze of comparison, judgment and low self esteem. I was also on a journey towards a stronger and clearer, inner foundation, so I could reclaim my voice and place in the world.
Part of the path to rebuilding, lead me to start sewing again and evolve my digital art into a tangible 3D form. I began with handbags as I thought they would challenge and grow my sewing skills. With the re-balancing of the sacred feminine energy in the collective, within myself and channeled through my collage art, I chose to adapt sections of the Goddess Stream collage for two handbags, Harmonic Goddess and Unity Goddess.
I understand the sacred feminine as a flow and an embodied presence that creates connection, and wisdom from within. It is intuition, vulnerability and a move towards a more balanced and collaborative wholeness. It is a rhythmic, creative and emotional energy that expresses itself through the subtle realms. It is the mystery, the unconscious, chaos, and transformation.
The renewal of the sacred feminine is a re-balancing and a shift to a more nurturing and peaceful approach to how we interact with the Earth, each other and the many inhabitants we share it with. Like the Yin Yang symbol, the energies are in balance when they blend into and out of each other in harmony, transformation, flow, and possibility.
Practice listening to your intuition, your inner voice; ask questions; be curious; see what you see; hear what you hear; and then act upon what you know to be true. These intuitive powers were given to your soul at birth.”

The handbags are constructed with equilibrium in mind, they are functional art that embody a deeper spiritual journey. They reflect the outward and the inward looking self. The black exterior of the bags reflect the protective, outer walls with panels or windows offering views into the interior world filled with renewal, growth and ancient wisdom. When you open up the handbag they are filled with vibrant colour. With each stitch of the bag, I set an intention that the individual wearing it will feel empowered.
I hope this short post offers some insights into the inspiration and love I bring to each handbag.
