Who we are
Hello, I am Julie Hopkins and I am the maker behind Crow Creative in Toronto, Ontario. Crow Creative is a container and portal to express and share the many hats I wield as a creator, collage artist, maker and designer. I create digital collage art and refashion it into moving images or wearable art and hand-made crafts.
I have entitled this page as Our Story as I believe it is important to acknowledge the support and encouragement I have received from friends, family, guides and guardians. To all who have helped me to stay on the winding path, I say thank you for your love and support!! You warm my heart and soul. ♥♥♥
Why do any of this?
Through my art, I seek to express the infinite within the finite. Each collage is an offering of love, and a celebration of the natural world, the cosmos and the spiritual dimensions of life. I hope the art acts as a lighthouse to connection and perspectives, emotions or energies that are freeing, inclusive and support you to thrive.
Production practices
I support a co-operative approach to business that seeks to elevate all involved. I am inspired by the traditional Japanese philosophy wabi-sabi which embraces nature, practices a form of revitalization or upcycling and raises the inherent value of these revitalized objects. I follow practices that minimize waste throughout my production process, and look for ethical suppliers that conserve energy and resources, and offer safe, equitable, and supportive working environments.
With each purchase from Crow Creative, I commit to further reduce my environmental footprint by donating to organizations that promote sustainability. You can find a list of the organizations on each product page. If you know of an agency that fits that bill send me an e-mail, I am open to new suggestions or approaches.
